This book showcases a series of outstanding works by the Belgian architect Bruno Erpicum. Trained at the Saint-Luc school in Brussels, Erpicum developed a particular interest in the modernist era in Belgium which was known for personalities such as Leborgne, Corbu, De Koninck, Bourgeois and Van de Velde. With this era confined to the past and with the architectural climate of the 1980s falling well short of his aspirations, Erpicum decided to concentrate his efforts on other continents where he would have greater opportunity to build as he liked. Over time he acquired a keen interest for travelling and developed a style of designing a structure based on the context and the surrounding environment. Each project became the subject of a customised intellectual voyage shaped by the local culture, landscape as well as the traditional architecture of the area.
